Orlando Escape Rooms: The Bureau
Despite being relatively new, escape rooms have quickly become one of our favorite things to do. We estimate, between the two of us, we’ve conquered 20+ rooms and can count our losses on one hand. We’ve talked about some of our favorite escape game companies in the past, and we’re excited to add a new one: The Bureau.
The Bureau Escape Room
As self-appointed escape game experts, there isn’t a lot we haven’t seen before when it comes to the games. That being said, we can safely say that The Bureau is unlike anything we’ve ever experienced in an escape game. Without exaggerating at all, you know you’re in for a different kind of escape game from the moment you walk through the door. We won’t go into any further specifics (to keep from spoiling things) but we think you’ll be just as impressed as we were.
Not only was the entrance unique, but the game itself is as well. Unlike traditional escape rooms, The Bureau’s games feature no locks, no keys, and no puzzles. But just because the gameplay is different, doesn’t mean it’s any less challenging!
Instead of spending time figuring out a crossword puzzle, you’re trying to figure out how to unlock a door with a handful of seemingly random items. This type of challenge isn’t an isolated thing in The Bureau. The way to progress in the story still involves the classic escape room tropes of using logic and collecting things; progression is just more straightforward than a typical escape game.
One thing that really impressed us at The Bureau was the technology utilized within the room. Almost everything was on a video monitor and there were even parts of the game that involved mechanical contraptions requiring multiple levels of steps to work. Every escape room uses tech, but there were things that we’ve never seen in a room before and it brought the experience to a cool new level.
Something we really look for in an escape room is the ability to play the game privately, and every game at The Bureau is a private experience. The rooms are a good enough size to comfortably fit a party of four and could probably fit up to eight without getting too tight.
The Verdict
Escape rooms are a bit of a passion of ours and The Bureau provides the same escape room experience we love but presents it in a whole new way. The presentation is amazing, the technology is impressive and you can never beat a private experience. The Bureau is a good choice for escape room beginners but will be especially fun for escape room veterans looking for a new challenge.
